Copying Cliptures KoolKat catalogs to your hard disk.
Tip:
The Cliptures KoolKat catalogs are designed so that you can use them on the Cliptures CD discs without having to install anything onto your hard disk. You can however copy them to your hard disk if you have the space. The Cliptures-KoolKat catalogs actually have a copy of the color, PICT(Vector) versions of the images stored in the catalog. If you copy one of the catalogs to your hard disk, you will not have to put the Cliptures CD in your CD drive when you want to use that particular Cliptures volumes images. (This only applies to the color, PICT(Vector) version of the Cliptures images.)
To copy a single Cliptures KoolKat catalog to your hard disk:
Drag the whole KoolKat folder (the folder has 2 files in it that need to stay together) from the Cliptures CD disc onto the window for your Mac's hard disk. Once it is copied to your hard disk, you can put the KoolKat folder wherever you like. Both the KoolKat Runtime file and the Cliptures-KoolKat file must stay together! Do not put them in different places or folders.
To copy multiple Cliptures KoolKat catalogs to your hard disk:
Note: There are 2 components to the Cliptures KoolKat catalogs. One is the KoolKat Runtime file and the other is the Cliptures-KoolKat file for the particular Cliptures volume. The KoolKat Runtime file is the "engine" for the Cliptures KoolKat catalogs. You can use the same KoolKat Runtime file to run any of the Cliptures-KoolKat catalogs.
If you are copying multiple Cliptures-KoolKat catalogs to your hard disk, you can same some space and keep everything organized by keeping one copy of the KoolKat Runtime file and all of the Cliptures-KoolKat catalogs that you are copying in one folder. For the first catalog that you are copying.
Here's how: For the first Cliptures volume, copy the whole KoolKat folder onto your hard disk. For each subsequent Cliptures volume you want to have on your hard disk, copy only the Cliptures-KoolKat file into the same KoolKat folder you previously copied.
Keep the one KoolKat Runtime file and all of the Cliptures-KoolKat catalogs in the same folder. When you want to use one, open the specific catalog that you want to use by double-clicking on that Cliptures-KoolKat catalog. You can also have multiple catalogs open at the same time by double-clicking on a second or third catalog. Important Note: Having multiple Cliptures-KoolKat catalogs open at the same time only works when you are running all of the catalogs from your hard disk.
