Wakin Up!

This scrapbook page uses a full 8 1/2 x 11 sheet for the background. The Cliptures clipart is imported into a page layout and scaled to size. The text is also added and scaled to size. The layout is printed and the pieces are cut out from the printed sheet. Then, the images, words, photo frames and photos are layered on the background paper.

Note: Because the images are cut out from the printed paper, their positioning in the layout program isn't particularly important. What is important is to scale them to the size you want and to arrange them so that they can all be printed out on a single sheet of paper. (See Paper Saver tip.)

Supplies:

- Cliptures: Both bears from Cliptures #17 Teddy Bears 1

- White paper for printing layout, lavender for background sheet, and a dark purple for the photo frames.

- Acid free scrapbooking glue or adhesive.

- Craft knife and cutting mat or scissors for cutting out the image and words from the layout page.

- Decorative edge scrapbook scissors for cutting photo frames.

Directions:
1. Start a new document in your layout software program.

2. Import the walking bear from Vol. 17 into the layout document. Scale the image to about 4" tall.

3. Import the standing (pink outfit) bear from Vol. 17 and scale it to about 3 1/2" tall.

4. Create the text for you page and scale it to size.

5. Print the layout page. Save paper and color ink! (See Proofing tip.)

6. Using a craft knife and cutting mat, cut the images and the individual words from the layout page.

Note: Leave an even amount of white space around the images and words when you cut them out. This is much easier than trying to trim right up to the edges and it creates a nice design too!

7. Trim your photos to their final sizes.

8. Cut the frames for the photos with decorative edge scissors.

9. Arrange and attach all of the elements to the background page with scrapbook adhesive.
