Computer Scrapbooking Ideas
Happy Thanksgiving
This scrapbook page uses 2 sheets of layered paper for the background. Cliptures clipart is imported into a page layout program, scaled to size, and printed on white paper. Then the images are cut out and, along with the photos, attached to the background sheets.
Note: (See Paper Saver tip.) Because the images are cut out from the printed paper, their positioning in the layout program isn't particularly important. What is important is to scale them to the size you want and to arrange them so that they can all be printed out on a single sheet of paper.
Materials:
- Cliptures: The clipart is from Cliptures #16 Occasions 2
- Paper: White for printing layout, brown or orange for background sheet and a light yellow or other complimentary color for the inner background sheet.
- Acid free glue or adhesive for scrapbooking.
- Decorative edge scrapbook scissors for cutting photo frames.
- Craft knife and cutting mat for cutting out images.
- Paper cutter or straight edge ruler for trimming inner layout sheet.
Directions:
1. Start a new document in your layout program.
2. Import the Thanksgiving turkey from Vol. 16 and scale it to about 2 1/2" tall.
3. Import the turkey holding the corn from Vol. 16 and scale it to about 2 3/4" tall.
4. Print the layout on white paper. (See Proofing tip.)
5. Using a craft knife and cutting mat, or scissors, trim the images leaving an even amount of white space all the way around each image. (This is much easier than trying to trim right up to the edges and it creates a nice design too!)
6. Cut the inner background sheet of paper to 7 1/2" by 10", center, and attach to the border background sheet.
7. Trim your photos to their final sizes.
8. Cut the frames for the photos with decorative edge scissors.
9. Arrange and attach all of the elements to the background sheets with scrapbook adhesive.
That's it!
