Soccer Buddies
This scrapbook page uses 2 sheets of layered paper for the background. The Cliptures clipart is imported into a layout program, scaled to size, and printed on white paper. The images are cut out from the printed page and, along with the photos, attached to the background sheets.
Note: Because the clipart images are cut out from a printed paper, their positioning in the layout program isn't particularly important. What is important is to scale them to the size you want and to arrange them so that they can all be printed on a single sheet of paper. (See Paper Saver tip.)
Materials:
- Cliptures: Clipart from Cliptures #25 Sports 2
- Paper: White for printing images, purple for background sheet, green for the inner background sheet, and orange for the photo frames.
- Decorative edge scrapbook scissors for cutting photo frames.
- Scrapbooking glue or adhesive (acid free).
- Craft knife and cutting mat for trimming the images.
- Paper cutter or straight edge ruler for trimming inner layout sheet.
Directions:
1. Start a new document in your layout program.
2. Import the boy catching the ball image from Vol. 25 into your document and scale it to about 3 1/4" tall.
3. Import the boy kicking the ball image into your document and scale it to about 2 3/4" tall.
4. Space the images apart in your layout and add any text headlines or other images you might like.
5. Print the layout on white paper. (See Proofing tip.)
6. Using a craft knife and cutting mat, or scissors, trim the images leaving an even amount of white space all the way around each image. (This is much easier than trying to trim right up to the edges and it creates a nice design too!)
7. Cut the inner background sheet of paper to 7 1/2" by 10", center, and attach to the border background sheet.
8. Trim your photos to their final sizes.
9. Cut the frames for the photos with decorative edge scissors.
10. Arrange and attach all of the elements to the background sheets with scrapbook adhesive.
