Scrapbook Ideas for Halloween
Laughing Pumpkin
This scrapbook page uses 2 sheets of layered paper for the background. The Cliptures clipart is imported into a page layout program, scaled to size, and printed on white paper. The images are cut out from the printed sheet and, along with the photos, attached to the background sheets.
Note: Because the images are cut out from the printed paper, their positioning in the layout program isn't particularly important. What is important is to scale them to the size you want and to arrange them so that they can all be printed out on a single sheet of paper. (See Paper Saver tip.)
Materials:
- Cliptures: All images from Cliptures #32 Fun Accents 3
- Paper: White for printing layout, orange for background sheet, and green for photo frames.
- Scrapbooking glue or adhesive.
- Craft knife and cutting mat for cutting out the images.
- Paper cutter or straight edge ruler, craft knife, and cutting mat for trimming inner layout sheet.
- Decorative edge scrapbook scissors for cutting photo frames.
Directions:
1. Start a new document in your layout program.
2. Import the witch from Vol. 32 into your document. Scale her to about 2 3/4" tall.
3. Import the bat from Vol. 32 and scale it to about 1 1/4" tall.
4. Import the pumpkin from Vol. 32 and scale it to about 2" tall.
5. Print the layout on white paper.
6. Using a craft knife and cutting mat, cut the images from the layout page.
Note: Leave an even amount of white space around the images when you cut them out. This is much easier than trying to trim right up to the edges and it creates a nice design too!
7. Trim your photos to their final sizes.
8. Cut the frames for the photos with decorative edge scissors.
9. Trim the inner background sheet to 7 1/2" by 10". Center and attach to the outer background sheet with scrapbook adhesive.
9. Arrange and attach all of the elements to the background sheets.
That's it!
Save paper and color ink! (See Proofing tip.)
