Digital Scrapbooking Ideas
Big Ghost!
This scrapbook page idea is a good example of the flexibility you have with Cliptures clipart for creating a variety of layouts.! The ghost is the same image used in the Goblins on the Loose! scrapbook page.
For this design, a single image is enlarged and slightly distorted so that it fills the entire layout. The page is printed, the white edges cut off, and the trimmed layout is attached to a green background sheet.
Note: The blue rectangles in the sample show where the photos go. They're not part of the actual Cliptures images.
Materials:
- Cliptures: Ghost from Cliptures #29 Occasions 4
- Paper: White for printing layout, and green for background sheet.
- Scrapbooking glue or adhesive.
- (Optional) Decorative edge scissors for trimming layout page and cropping photos.
Directions:
1. Start a new document in your layout program. Change the background color of the layout to orange. (If your program won't let you change the background color of the page, see Adding a Background Color.)
2. Import the ghost from Vol. 29 into your document.
3. Scale it to about 7 1/2" wide and position it at the top of the layout.
4. At this point the image doesn't reach all the way to the bottom of the layout. In order to get it to fill the entire page, you will need to distort (stretch) it a little. Most layout programs will let you do this by dragging on one of the corners or sides of the image. (See Distorting an Image.)
5. Add any text you might want.
6. Print the layout on white paper.
7. Trim the unprinted edges from the sheet.
8. Center and attach the trimmed sheet onto the background paper with scrapbook adhesive.
9. Cut frames for your photos with decorative edge scissors.
10. Attach the frames and photos to the layout.
That's it!
