Digital Scrapbooking Tips!
Distorting Clipart
You can use this tip with vector clipart. With Cliptures clipart, you want to use the WMF version (Windows) or the EPS version (Macintosh). These are both vector based clipart formats that you can stretch or scale without loosing their crisp high resolution printing properties.
All layout programs will let you scale clipart to make it larger or smaller. Most will let you both scale clipart keeping the same height to width ratio, or, stretch it making the height or width out of proportion to the original image. If this exact technique doesn't work with your particular layout program, check your program's user manual or online help file. You will generally referred to as scaling or resizing and image.
Directions:
1. Click on top of the clipart image so that it is selected. Typically when an image is selected, the layout program will show some kind of squares (handles) in each of the images 4 corners and possibly in the middle of each side of the graphic too.
2. Click on one of the handles and, while continuing to hold down your mouse button, drag one of the handles away from the center of the image. This should stretch (distort) the image in the direction you are dragging the handle.
3. When you have stretched the image to the shape you want, release the mouse button.
PrintShop users: To distort an image in PrintShop, hold down the Control key (Windows) or the Command/Apple key (Macintosh) while dragging on one of the image handles.
