Scrapbook Page Ideas
My First Dance Class
This scrapbook page uses a full 8 1/2 x 11 sheet for the background. The Cliptures clipart is imported into a layout program and scaled to size. Text is also added, colored, and scaled to size. The layout is printed and the pieces are cut out from the printed sheet. Then, the image, words, photo frames and photos are attached to the background paper.
Note: Because the images and words are cut out from the printed paper, their positioning in the layout program isn't particularly important. What is important is to scale them to the size you want and to arrange them so that they can all be printed out on a single sheet of paper. (See Paper Saver tip.)
Materials:
- Cliptures: Ballerina from Cliptures #17 Teddy Bears 1
- Paper: White for printing images, lavender or pink for background sheet, and a complimentary color (purple or dark pink) for the photo frames.
- Scrapbooking glue or adhesive.
- Craft knife and cutting mat or scissors for cutting out the image and words.
- Decorative edge scrapbook scissors for cutting photo frames.
Directions:
1. Start a new document in your layout program.
2. Import the ballerina teddy bear from Vol. 17 into your document. Scale the image to about 6 1/2" tall.
3. Create the text for the page and color it to compliment the color of the background paper.
4. Print the layout page. Save paper and color ink! (See Proofing tip.)
5. Using a craft knife and cutting mat, cut the bear and the individual words from the page.
Note: When cutting, leave an even amount of white space around the image and each word. This is much easier than trying to trim right up to the edges and it creates a nice design too!
6. Trim your photos to their final sizes.
7. Cut frames for the photos with decorative edge scissors.
8. Arrange and attach all of the elements to the background page with scrapbook adhesive.
That's it!
