Scrapbooking Ideas
Christmas Mouse
This scrapbook page uses 2 sheets of layered paper for the background. The Cliptures clipart is imported into a layout program, scaled to size, and printed on white paper. The image is cut out from the printed sheet and, along with the photos, attached to the background sheets.
Materials:
- Cliptures: Image from Cliptures #16 Occasions 2
- Paper: White for printing image, blue and yellow for background sheets, red and green for picture frames.
- Scrapbooking glue or adhesive.
- Craft knife and cutting mat for cutting out the image and a straight edge ruler for trimming inner background sheet.
- Decorative edge scrapbook scissors for cutting photo frames, or a circle cutter.
Directions:
1. Start a new document in your layout program.
2. Import the Christmas mouse from Vol. 16 into your document and scale it to about 5 1/2" tall.
3. Create any page topper (headline text) you might want.
4. Print the layout with your image and page topper on white paper. (See Paper Saver tip.)
5. Using a craft knife and cutting mat, or scissors, trim the image and text leaving an even amount of white space all the way around each. (This is much easier than trying to trim right up to the edges and it creates a nice design too!)
6. Cut the inner background sheet of paper to 7 1/2" by 10", center, and attach to the border background sheet with scrapbook adhesive.
7. Trim your photos to their final sizes.
8. Cut the frames for the photos with decorative edge scissors.
9. Arrange and attach all of the elements to the background sheets.
That's it!
